FAQ’s

What are your business hours?

Our practice hours are from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Appointments can be made by telephoning our practice at 02 8893 4900

Do I need a referral letter?

Although you can see a specialist without a referral letter, this letter from your general practitioner is recommended, so that your doctor is kept up to date with your treatment progress through Dr. Hoe’s correspondence.

A referral letter should be written before your appointment date with your specialist. Backdating a referral letter is not acceptable.

With a referral letter, this will allow you to claim back some of the consultation fee from Medicare. For further information on the Medicare Benefits Scheme, please contact 13 20 11

What about treatment costs?

This practice charges fees as recommended by the Australian Medical Association schedule. Payment at time of consultation is appreciated. We accept cash or credit cards (Mastercard, Visa). We do not accept American Express cards.

If surgery is required, we will provide you with a quote before proceeding with any treatment.

For some operations, not all the costs will be covered by your private health fund. This will take the form of a gap payment. If you have any further questions, my staff will be pleased to help you navigate through this.

It is an advantage to have private health insurance as you will have greater flexibility to choose your own doctor, hospital and timing of your treatment.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment by calling us directly during our working hours.

What should I bring with me when I come for an appointment?

When you come for your appointment please remember to obtain and bring the following:

  • GP referral letter
  • X-rays and scans
  • Patient registration form (optional)
  • Private Health Insurance details
  • Letter of authority & authority number (workers comp and 3rd party only)
